Hobbs was a valuable and engaged member of this Writing One section, an insightful and active participant in group discussions both in class and on the section email list. He proved an intelligent interrogator of educational issues ranging from the reasons for student "invisibility" and some ways to improve the situation (which he constructed as a realistic creative play) to the educational potential of a certain game to (the subject of his final research essay) the potential of technology to re-engage students.
